Milk Mustache Mania tells of a meeting with Garfield's creators where the Garfield side objected to the copy (“Garfield the Cat wouldn't say that”) and the agency answered that Garfield isn't real, which was met with silence on the phone. The book says the two sides then set about working out what a cat with a milk mustache would say.
